The insurance industry is a brilliant place to build a career. The work is varied, intellectually stimulating and without it, the UK economy and public sector could not operate. In order to ensure that the UK remains a centre of insurance excellence, we need to attract the best, diverse talent. Diversity comes from gender, race, sexuality, age, (dis)ability, background and religion. Our customer base embodies all these characteristics, and in order to serve them best, our employees must also reflect them.
We have therefore invited our colleagues in the UK insurance industry to sign a pledge, demonstrating our commitment to a culture where inclusive behaviours are the norm and where everyone is accepting of diversity. We acknowledge that we haven’t always got it right, but as a sector we are committed to ensuring that insurance is inclusive and tolerant of all our differences.
